I’m a product designer focused on building thoughtful, human-centred digital products, with a particular interest in AI, trust, safety, and complex systems.

Along the way I’ve worn hats as designer, product manager, researcher, and web developer, but the title is secondary. What gets me excited is tackling hard problems with kind, smart people.

My niche has ended up being the space between regulated, high-trust systems and fast consumer ecommerce. At Voyance, that meant translating fraud detection and compliance logic into workflows risk analysts and compliance teams could actually rely on. A shorter stint at YouVerify had me contributing to a compliance and risk management dashboard and working alongside the team on a redesign of YVOS, the core platform, before I moved on. At HustleSasa, it means building checkout, ticketing, and check-in flows that move hundreds of thousands of people through live events without anyone thinking twice about how it works.

Industrial and Production Engineering trained me to think in systems before I ever touched a design tool. It shows up in how I break down ambiguous problems before jumping to an interface.

Lately I keep coming back to one question: how do you design a system that is genuinely safe and trustworthy without making it feel like a fortress? That question sat at the center of my two years leading design on Hatari, an AI fraud and compliance platform at Voyance, and it shows up again, in a different shape, at HustleSasa now.

Outside the day job, I’m building more of my own products, teaching myself further into code, and exploring what systems thinking actually looks like in design work today, especially with the support of AI. still learning ✶

    HustleSasa · Product Designer, UI/UX

    Designing both sides of a live-events platform across East Africa: the attendee app, from sign-up to check-in, and the merchant tools that let one organizer run a whole event from one screen.

  2. Sep 2024 — Mar 2025

    YouVerify · Senior Product Designer

    Contributed to the redesign of YVOS, the identity and compliance verification platform, working on flows where clarity and trust matter more than anything.

  3. Jul 2021 — Aug 2024

    Voyance · Product Designer, Hatari

    Three years at Voyance, two of them leading design on Hatari, an AI fraud and compliance platform: a visual rules engine analysts could actually reason about, case management, and ML monitoring.

Approach

How I approach design.

Start with the question underneath the question.

A feature request is rarely the whole story. I want to understand what people are trying to accomplish, what the business needs, where the system breaks down, and whether we’re solving the right problem in the first place. The most useful design decision sometimes happens before anything reaches a screen.

Make ideas tangible before they get comfortable.

I use AI, code, and rapid prototyping to explore ideas while they still have room to change. Making something real enough to react to helps teams question assumptions, uncover constraints, and see possibilities that static screens often miss. The goal isn’t to move fast for its own sake. It’s to learn before we become attached to the wrong answer.

Design for the moments people need to trust.

The products I’m drawn to often involve complexity: financial decisions, automated systems, compliance workflows, or information people need to act on with confidence. In those moments, clarity matters more than cleverness. I pay attention to the language, feedback, edge cases, and small details that help people understand what’s happening and what comes next.

Follow the work beyond the handoff.

Shipping is where assumptions meet reality. I care about how a design gets built, how people actually use it, where they hesitate, and what changes after release. Good design isn’t finished when the screens look polished. It’s finished when the experience works for the people and teams relying on it.

Off the clock

The other hours.

You’ll usually find me playing video games, on the tennis court, taking long walks with my husband, or creating content. Lately I’ve also fallen in love with cooking, there’s something really satisfying about slowing down, trying new recipes, and making an ordinary evening feel a little more special.

I love building things, whether that’s content, routines, or experiences that make life feel a bit lighter. I’m a big believer that the small things we do consistently matter far more than the occasional burst of motivation.
